$189.99 – $279.99
The Google Nest Cam with Floodlight combines a 1080p HDR outdoor camera with powerful dual floodlights producing 2400 lumens at 4000K color temperature. The frosted glass diffusers provide even, bright illumination without harsh glare.
The camera features a 130-degree diagonal field of view with HDR for bright conditions and infrared night vision up to 20 feet. While the floodlight enables bright illumination, the night vision itself is black-and-white (not color). High-quality speakers and microphones enable full-duplex 2-way audio with noise cancellation.
Intelligent detection distinguishes between people, vehicles, packages, and animals with free intelligent alerts—no subscription required for basic features. Activity Zones can be configured with different sensitivity levels and customized schedules. Three hours of event video history is included free.
The dual motion sensors on the floodlight provide 180-degree horizontal coverage up to 25 feet, while the camera motion sensor covers 110 degrees. The built-in battery ensures the camera continues recording during power outages (floodlight functionality requires power).
For extended features, Google Home Premium subscription ($10/month for unlimited cameras) provides up to 60 days of event video history, face recognition, and 24/7 continuous recording. The device integrates with Google Home and Google Assistant but does not natively support Apple HomeKit (requires Starling Home Hub or similar bridge).
Installation requires hardwiring to 100-240V AC power, ideally replacing an existing floodlight fixture. Professional installation is recommended for those unfamiliar with electrical work.
